NFA was always ok in my book, but it never really moved me...until tonight. Putting on the last coat of polyurethane and dancing with my gas mask on I totally grooved on NFA from Berkeley on 5.22.82. Check it out for yourself. The jam is intense. Any one else have a NFA they can't live without? Show me your goods.

Norfoldk '82, when they switched positions. The NFA built up out of space and just kept growing and growing and growing until it just "becaem" Not Fade Away".

Love that version.

WOW! That was a Monster NFA, followed by a fantastic Wharf Rat. I don't think I ever heard them jam quite like that before.

4-17-82 is a sweet one too, the whole 2nd set is awesome.

yes, the gas mask was sealed tight on my face and all i saw were stars and portions of the close one, mars...

all I heard was Dead

all I know is nothing, but my head's all dead (and i don't care) and my feet can't dance on the floor anymore - looks like the double dipped sunshine's are a workin their way into a flashback - hold on and tighten the mask once again

j/k

Good question Dire, however this new green water based poly is lots less toxic than the old stuff. Speaking of, it could be the other green that caused me to shake a leg. I even pulled out my patent dance move, the booty rump shaker kick out. Hard to describe, it's just something that you have to experience. And yes, the Cornell version is a good one, probably one of the ones that is used for the NFA litmus test. Interesting the other two suggestions were also from 82. Must have been a fine year for that song.

Yeah, TBRSKO as been a favorite for many years. Started in college. I have a friend that asks me to perform it but I always tell her it is something that comes from within, you just can't force it, it just happens.

I'm listening to 1.31.70, the day they got busted down on Bourbon Street. Interesting setlist. The power was acting weird and shocking them so they went electric. Good stuff. Lots of banter about the Man keeping them us down.

What are you still doing up? You must be a night owl. It's late for me and I'm on the West Coast! Of course I have to get up and talk to you East Coasters for a living.

Hope a Dick's Picks qualifies.

I've yet to hear a better NFA than DP #10, the 12-29-77 monster show from the Winterland.

They are so F---ing ON!

Just listen to the way Garcia practically spits out the "I tried to show ya but you drive me BACK" line.
